The Most Essential Part of Your Business: Your Leads
I imagine that you would do anything within your power (and the law) to make a sale, so why would you do anything less than have a simple and fool-proof way to retain and maintain your leads - the seeds from which your sales grow!

Whether your business is selling or buying real estate, teaching a foreign language, or making statues from iron rivets, the lifeblood of your business is the people who actually ‘pay’ you. It takes, on average, 5 “touches”, or contacts, for a transaction to occur. So you need to retain the contact information of your prospective clients in order to follow up with them. Ideally you will sell to them over and over again, but you can't do that unless you have an easy method by which to follow up with them.
For capturing and managing your prospective clients’ information I recommend using a service called Aweber. There are others available, but Aweber offers many features, has great customer support, and is very inexpensive. To give you a brief idea of how this type of service works, you put a "sign-up form" on your blog (as many as you like with any type of information that you want to collect) and when a visitor/lead signs up all of their information is automatically sent to and stored in an online database.
There are numerous features that come with this service that allow you to automate your business, including sending bulk email, sorting your buyers/lead-list by specified criteria, and creating automatic follow up emails.
